On September 2-6, 2024, several 6G-NTN project partners attended the long-anticipated 6G Week in Valencia composed of two major events, the IEEE PIMRC 2024 and the one6G Summit 2024. Hosted at the famous Palacio de Congresos de Valencia, a state-of-the-art conference center designed by Norman Foster, the events brought together top experts in the field of wireless communications and beyond.
“6G-NTN: Architectures and Technologies” workshop
On Monday, September 2, 2024, during the IEEE PIMRC 2024, UNIBO organised a full-day workshop titled “6G-NTN: Architectures and Technologies,” with the aim of sharing innovative ideas and insights, shaping new research directions on enabling techniques for integration and flexible network operation of NTN in 6G targeting both infrastructural and technological aspects. Presentations at the one6G Summit 2024
Organized under the theme “Together, we shape 6G,” the 4th edition of the one6G Summit delved into the transformative potential of 6G technology, exploring how it can revolutionise our daily lives, work environments, and overall experiences. The event featured six thematic sessions filled with expert presentations and discussions and two exhibitors’ demo pitch sessions.
The one6G Summit 2024 gathered 39 esteemed speakers, including three 6G-NTN partners:
Monique Calisti, CEO at Martel Innovate and President at Digital for Planet who participated in session 2 “Global 6G development”
Ana Pérez-Neira, Director at CTTC who participated in session 5 “cutting-edge technologies”
Massimo Neri, CTO at Martel Innovate, who, as a one6G Board Member, delivered his presentation during session 6 “one6G Association.”
While Monique Calisti focused her presentation on societal and environmental aspects of 6G, Ana Pérez-Neira talked about AI in space. Massimo Neri, gave a presentation titled, “Realizing 6G: Orchestrating the convergence of computing and networking.”
