On October 1-3, 2024, Alessandro Vanelli-Coralli, 6G-NTN Project Coordinator and Nicolas Chuberre, 6G-NTN Technical Manager attended the Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) Final Presentation Days 2024, which took place at ESA’s European Centre for Space Applications and Telecommunications (ECSAT), in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom.
The event brought together experts from across the satellite communications industry to showcase and discuss the latest innovations and research developments under the European Space Agency’s (ESA) programme. This programme, managed by the Directorate of Connectivity and Secure Communications, focuses on enabling European and Canadian industries to develop cutting-edge products, services, and systems that enhance their competitive standing in the global satellite telecommunications market.
Throughout the event, participants were treated to a comprehensive series of presentations highlighting the achievements of recently completed activities within the ARTES programme portfolio. These presentations covered a broad range of topics, including ground terminals, space systems, optical technologies, advancements in 5G/6G technologies, and more. Both industry representatives and ESA experts offered insights into the current state and future direction of the sector.
In addition to the technical sessions, the event provided excellent networking opportunities. Participants had the chance to engage in panel discussions, connect with potential partners, and meet with National Delegates to discuss ongoing and future initiatives.
