The 25th IEEE International Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications (SPAWC) is the flagship workshop of the Signal Processing for Wireless Communications and Networking Technical Committee (SPCOM‐TC) of the IEEE Signal Processing Society, aims to bring together researchers in signal processing, wireless communications, information theory, and optimization from both academia and industry.
A walk into how Marconi gave us
THE WIRELESS WORLD
On Sept. 8, 1902, Guglielmo Marconi was looking at the Tuscan coast from the cruiser “Carlo Alberto” . While passing in front of Leghorn, Marconi expressed his intention to build a powerful intercontinental station. The selected site was Coltano, a rural area between Lucca and Leghorn. The Coltano station was inaugurated by Marconi himself in 1911 with transmissions to Clifden (Ireland) and Glace Bay (Canada). SPAWC 2024 will be a great opportunity to learn more about this once worldwide renowned, but now completely forgotten, radio station.
