The 6G-NTN project was proudly represented at the “6G Horizons: Synergies for a Connected Future” workshop, which took place on Tuesday, 1 April, as part of the EU-Japan Digital Week 2025 in Tokyo, Japan.
The event, hosted at The University of Tokyo, gathered leading experts from Europe, Japan, and other Indo-Pacific countries to explore the future of 6G technology and the synergies that will shape the next phase of global connectivity.
6G-NTN project coordinator Alessandro Vanelli-Coralli from the University of Bologna took the stage to present the 6G-NTN project. He shared valuable insights into the project’s pioneering work in Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTNs) and its role in advancing 6G innovation. Alessandro highlighted how 6G-NTN is contributing to the global vision of a fully connected world.

The workshop featured a series of presentations and reports from other European Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) projects, including 6G MIRAI, 6G ARROW, SUSTAIN 6G, and 6G4Society. These contributions emphasised the collaborative efforts between Europe and Japan in developing cutting-edge 6G technologies.
The event’s focus on fostering deeper collaboration and partnerships between the EU and Japan, as well as other Indo-Pacific countries, was key to driving forward the next generation of digital connectivity.
