6G-NTN Project General Assembly Held in Bologna, Italy

On 27-28 May 2025, the 6G-NTN project convened its General Assembly in Bologna, Italy, hosted by the project coordinator, University of Bologna. The two-day event gathered consortium partners to align on key technical and strategic aspects as the project approaches its final phase.

The first day focused on reviewing the project’s technical progress and aligning activities across work packages. Partners coordinated efforts on enablers for end-to-end integration in 6G system architecture, as well as 6G NTN radio access technologies. Updates on the project’s outreach activities and exploitation strategy were also shared, reinforcing the collaborative spirit behind the project’s mission to shape the future of next-generation connectivity.

The second day turned to deeper technical integration and planning. Discussions addressed architecture design and trade-offs, as well as detailed deliverables planning. The day concluded with a discussion on plans for the project’s final phase.

As the 6G-NTN project moves into its concluding stages, the General Assembly served as a vital checkpoint to harmonise contributions and set the stage for forthcoming final results. Partners reaffirmed their commitment to advancing seamless integration between satellite and terrestrial networks for the future of 6G.
