6G-NTN was proudly represented at the 30th Ka & Broadband Communications Conference, held on 22–24 October 2025 in Turin, Italy. The event brought together global leaders from industry, academia, and policy to discuss the future of satellite and broadband communications.
Project Coordinator Prof. Alessandro Vanelli-Coralli from University of Bologna and Dorin Panaitopol from Thales Group both contributed to the Plenary Panel 1: “NTN – The Road Map to 6G.”
The panel, chaired by Prof. Barry Evans (University of Surrey, UK), explored the evolving role of Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) in the path toward 6G, covering key topics such as the resurgence of LEO constellations, opportunities for WRC-27, AI integration in satellite systems, and the convergence of terrestrial and non-terrestrial infrastructures.
Prof. Vanelli-Coralli also participated in the Plenary Panel 2: “AI-Driven NextGen Space Domain,” chaired by Nafiz Karabudak (Lockheed Martin Corporation, USA). The discussion highlighted how AI is transforming space operations, from autonomous spacecraft and intelligent Earth observation to AI-enhanced communication systems and mission management.
Their participation underscored 6G-NTN’s commitment to advancing European leadership in both NTN and AI-driven space connectivity, paving the way for a unified and intelligent 6G ecosystem.
