The IEEE Future Networks World Forum (FNWF) 2025 is currently taking place from 10–12 November in Bangalore, India, gathering global experts and researchers to discuss the evolution of 6G technologies and future network paradigms.
On 10 November, the 6G-NTN Project Coordinator Alessandro Vanelli-Coralli from University of Bologna participated as a speaker in the Symposium on 6G Challenges, where he delivered a presentation on NTN integration opportunities and challenges in 6G.
In his talk, he outlined the opportunities and challenges associated with integrating Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) into future 6G systems. The presentation emphasised:
- The importance of synergy between terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks;
- The role of standardisation in ensuring sustainable NTN deployment;
- The need for continued research and innovation to enable seamless and efficient integration within 6G architectures.
These themes align closely with the 6G-NTN project’s vision to leverage advanced satellite and terrestrial technologies for global, sustainable, and unified 6G connectivity.
About IEEE FNWF 2025
The IEEE Future Networks World Forum 2025 is held under the theme “Beyond Connectivity: 6G for a Sustainable and Intelligent Future.” The event explores how next-generation networks, enhanced by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, can deliver seamless, intelligent, and responsive connectivity. FNWF 2025 serves as a global platform for researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers to exchange insights on creating a sustainable, interconnected, and intelligent digital ecosystem for the 6G era.
